The purpose of The Body’s Thermostat is to identify the comfort zone and provide tasks aimed at self-care which can help to restore our body to peace after times of stress. If our brains and bodies work too hard, we can get stuck in fight-or-flight (run too hot). The opposite is also true. If our brains and bodies stay overwhelmed and overloaded too long, they can freeze and may even collapse to compensate. The Body’s Thermostat can also be used as an effective interactive tool in therapy offices or recovery groups.
